AI training for the impact economy

Do more with the team you have.Without putting anyone at risk.

Hands-on AI training for charities, social enterprises, councils, housing associations, social care providers and colleges. Online sessions from £445 for up to 25 people, priced per session rather than per head, with the governance built in rather than bolted on.

You do not need a budget line for AI to start. Most organisations we talk to start with one online session and a room full of people who have been quietly using it anyway.

01 / The problem

Your team is already using AI. Nobody has decided how.

In most organisations there are two or three people quietly getting a lot out of AI, a group who opened it once and closed it again, and a larger group who have not touched it because nobody has said whether they are allowed to.

In this sector that gap costs more than it does elsewhere. The information your people handle is about beneficiaries, tenants, service users, students and residents. A case note pasted into a free chatbot to tidy the wording is a data breach, and the person who did it was trying to save twenty minutes for someone who needed them.

Banning it does not work, because the people who are ahead will carry on and the people who are behind will stay behind. Ignoring it does not work either, because your funders, your commissioners, your trustees and your regulator will ask what your position is, and “we have not got one” is not an answer that survives an audit.

71% of UK employees have used unapproved AI tools at work. Half still do, every week.

02 / Why we built this for you

The organisations doing the most good
have the least to spend on getting AI right

NPC sized the UK’s impact economy in January 2026: charities, social enterprises and impact-led organisations that put public benefit ahead of private gain. It is not a niche. It is a seventh of the country’s economy, and most of it runs on stretched teams, restricted funding and systems that were chosen because they were free.

The AI training market has largely ignored it, because the sector cannot pay corporate day rates. So the sessions on this page are the same ones we run for manufacturers and engineering firms, priced per session rather than per head, and led with the online formats, because an hour online for 25 people costs less than a day of one consultant’s time.

What changes for your sector is the content. The examples are your funding applications, your case notes, your board papers, your tenant letters and your safeguarding policy, and every session covers what must never go into a public AI tool before it covers what can.

Governance is not a module at the end. It is the first twenty minutes.

03 / The sessions

Start online, priced up front

Every price below is for the whole session, not per head. Bring 25 people or bring six, the number is the same. Online sessions run live and taught, so a team spread across sites, shifts or home working can all be in it without anybody travelling.

Online, live and taught

01

Introduction to AI

One hour. The shared starting point for a team where some people are flying and most are not. What AI is genuinely good at, what it is bad at, what must never go into a public tool, and where it fits into the work your people already do.

£4451 hour, 25 people
02

CoPilot for Microsoft 365

The one most public and charitable organisations should start with. If you are on Microsoft 365, the AI you are allowed to use is already inside your Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel, and most of the licence goes unused. Ninety minutes on the tool you already pay for, applied to the documents your team handles every day, inside the security your IT team has already signed off.

£5951.5 hours, 25 people
03

AI Practical Skills

Two hours, hands on. For a team that has the basics and wants to put AI into funding bids, reports, service letters and board papers without waiting for a date in the diary that suits everybody.

£7452 hours, 25 people
Introduction to AI£445 ÷ 25 = £17.80per person, one hour, live
CoPilot for Microsoft 365£595 ÷ 25 = £23.80per person, ninety minutes, live
AI Practical Skills£745 ÷ 25 = £29.80per person, two hours, live

If you would rather have us in the room

04

AI Foundations, in person

One hour at your premises. Fits inside a normal team meeting.

£9951 hour, 25 people
05

CoPilot for Microsoft 365, in person

Ninety minutes, on site, on the tool you already pay for.

£1,3951.5 hours, 25 people
06

AI Intermediate Skills, in person

Two hours for a team past the basics.

£1,7952 hours, 25 people
07

Interactive AI Half Day

Three hours, and your team leaves with working solutions built on your own tasks.

£2,7953 hours, 25 people

The in-person sessions are described in full on the AI Training Workshops page. The price difference is our travel and a day out of the diary, nothing else.

Why the prices are built around 25

Twenty-five is the number where hands-on still means hands-on. Everybody gets to try things on their own work, ask the question they did not want to ask in front of the whole organisation and leave with something that runs. Past that it drifts towards a lecture, and a lecture is the thing we are trying to avoid.

It is a preference, not a rule. If you have 60 frontline staff and one afternoon, tell us the headcount and what you want people to walk out able to do, and we will tell you honestly which shape gets you there. Sometimes that is one big session. More often it is a big session to set the direction and smaller ones to do the work.

All prices exclude VAT and are based on 25 people. Online sessions run on Teams or Zoom. In-person sessions delivered anywhere in the UK. Larger audiences quoted on the call.

Prices are subject to change.

04 / Choosing

Which one fits your organisation

Most people know which of these describes them within a sentence or two.

If you are

A charity or social enterprise with a small team and no AI position

Introduction to AI online. One hour, everybody in it, and you leave with the beginnings of a policy your trustees can read. £445.
If you are

A council, housing association or public body on Microsoft 365

CoPilot for Microsoft 365 online. The licence is already paid for and already inside your security perimeter. The fastest return available to you. £595.
If you are

A care provider or college whose office team knows the basics

AI Practical Skills online. Two hours on funding bids, reports, rotas, letters and lesson planning rather than another introduction. £745.
If you

Want the leadership team and the board on the same page first

That is a different conversation, and we run a programme for it. The Exec Board programme is written for the people who have to sign the policy off.

05 / What you get

What your team walks out with

The job is making your team capable, so the knowledge stays in your organisation rather than with us.

  • A shared level of AI understanding, from the biggest sceptic to the keenest early adopter
  • A clear line on what must never go into a public AI tool, and what can
  • The groundwork for an AI policy your trustees, commissioners or governors can read and approve
  • A repeatable way of working with AI that produces consistent results rather than lucky one-offs
  • Hours back in the week on the writing that eats it: bids, reports, letters, minutes, case summaries
  • The confidence to pick the right tool for a job and to leave the wrong one alone
  • A common language for AI across teams, so the conversations stop stalling
  • Somewhere to start, without having to be ready first

The repeatable method is CRAFT®, a prompting framework built and trade marked by Tim Bennett. Your team learns it as a way of working rather than as a piece of theory. More on CRAFT®

On cost savings, we show the working rather than promise a number. On the call we ask what your team writes every week and how long it takes. The session is then built on those tasks, so you can measure the time saved on the work you actually do rather than on a slide.

06 / Who we train

Who we work with

UK organisations where the whole team needs to move at once, rather than a few enthusiasts pulling ahead.

We have delivered AI training to charitable foundations, further education, manufacturing, engineering and technology organisations across the UK, Europe and South East Asia. That includes 50 staff at a further education college in West Yorkshire, trained across three cohorts, and two members of the Ferdinando & Luigi Innocenti Foundation on our three-day Copilot Bootcamp.

Powerhouse Digital is led by Tim Bennett, an AI specialist who builds and implements AI systems for businesses, including the BOB-E.ai agent platform. We are not trainers reading from somebody else’s slides. We build the tools and the frameworks, and we use them in our own business before we teach them in yours.

“Tim created a bespoke training session for us on AI delivered to 50 staff, the training was extremely useful and engaging, which enthused my staff and dispelled any concerns over AI.”

07 / Fair questions

The questions we always get

We have a small budget and a lot of people who need this.

Then start with one online session. £445 covers 25 people for an hour, live and taught, and it is priced per session rather than per head. If you have 60 people, that is three sessions or one larger one, and we will tell you honestly which works better for what you want people to walk out able to do. Nobody is asked to buy a programme before they have seen a session.

Our data is about vulnerable people. Is AI safe for us at all?

Some of it is and some of it is not, and the difference is the first thing we teach. Every session opens with what must never go into a public AI tool, why, and what your people should do instead. If you are on Microsoft 365, the CoPilot session shows how to get the benefit inside the security your IT team has already approved rather than outside it. You leave with the beginnings of a written position, which is what your regulator, your funders and your trustees will ask for.

Do trustees, governors or commissioners need to sign this off?

Usually not for a single online session at this price, and a session is often the thing that gets the policy conversation started properly. If your leadership team wants to understand the risks before anybody else is trained, the Exec Board programme is written for them and we would suggest running that first.

We are on Microsoft 365 but nobody uses Copilot.

You are in good company, and it is the most common thing we hear from public and charitable organisations. The licence is inside your security perimeter and it is already paid for, which makes the CoPilot session the fastest return available to you. Ninety minutes on the documents, emails and spreadsheets your team handles every day.

What happens after the training?

It carries on, and it is built in from the first session rather than bolted on at the end. Every session closes with the next step already agreed: what the team will try over the following fortnight, when we check in on how it went, and what the sensible next session would be if there is one. The check-ins are regular and short. The aim is that your team manages its own use of AI without us, and calls on expert advice only when something genuinely needs it.

We also train your AI champions as internal trainers. The two or three people who were ahead at the start become the ones who bring the next group along, so the knowledge stays inside your organisation rather than on our invoice.

Can you not do it for us?

We can, and sometimes that is the right answer. But if what you want is a consultant who builds everything and keeps the knowledge in their own head, we are the wrong choice. The job here is making your team capable without us, which for a stretched organisation is the only version that lasts past the invoice.

Want the leadership team briefed before the staff are trained?

The Exec Board programme is a half-day session for the people who have to sign the AI policy off. What the risks are, what the opportunities are, and what to decide first. Delivered to boards and senior teams across sectors.

The Exec Board programme

Sending a few people rather than the whole team?

The online sessions are priced per session and not per head, so a team of four pays what a team of 25 pays. If you are sending one or two people and a session of your own is hard to justify, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing yet.
